The Spear
Scholars have said that seeing a spear may indicate the birth of a male child, who, if the spear has a head, will be a leader among people. Its appearance in a rider's hand signifies authority, glory, and high status, whereas its breakage in the rider's hand may suggest a weakening of power, an ailment or death for a son or brother, or the dismissal of a ruler. It can also point to bearing truthful witness or speaking ill of others, with the *mezraq* carrying similar implications.
