The Slipper
Scholars have stated that seeing slippers (khuff) without wearing them may indicate obtaining money from non-Arab people. The loss of slippers symbolizing protection might mean the loss of adornment, but if they symbolize worries and debts, their loss could signify relief and escape from them. It is said that wearing simple slippers indicates marriage to a virgin, while torn slippers from below suggest marriage to a non-virgin. Losing or dropping them may imply divorcing one's wife, and selling them could mean the wife's death.
