Playing the Mizmar (Flute)

Scholars have said that seeing oneself playing the mizmar (flute) and placing fingers on its holes may indicate learning the Holy Quran and its meanings, and mastering its recitation. It has also been said that if a sick person sees himself playing the mizmar, it may suggest his approaching death. Cymbals made of brass symbolize worldly possessions, and playing them indicates boasting about worldly life.
