The Belt
Scholars have indicated that seeing a belt (المنطقة) in a dream carries multiple meanings related to age, authority, strength, and wealth. A king giving a belt and fastening it around the waist may suggest that half of the dreamer's life remains, while wearing many belts until unable to carry them signifies a long life. Its interpretation varies with its material and adornment: gold might indicate the ruler's injustice, iron the strength of soldiers, and silver their wealth. Taking a belt with the right hand without fastening it might point to traveling under authority, or gaining governorship if a whip is in the left. A plain belt may suggest relying on a noble, strong man and gaining goodness from him, or strength and stability in trade and lawful sustenance, while jewels on it indicate wealth and leadership. The breaking of a governor's belt strengthens his authority and lengthens his life.
