Eid al-Adha

The "festival of sacrifice," commemorating Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. Marked by a congregational prayer and, for those able, the sacrifice of an animal (udhiyah) with the meat shared among family, friends, and those in need — many DFW halal butchers offer udhiyah services around this time.
