Scholars have said that seeing oneself drinking wine among a large group may be interpreted as corruption, due to the riot and fighting that follows intoxication. It has been said that wine for someone seeking partnership or marriage indicates agreement. They also differed on the interpretation of drinking wine mixed with water, which may point to wealth that is partly lawful and partly unlawful, or wealth acquired with difficulty, or temptation from a woman, while intoxication without drinking may indicate worry and fear.
