Theft of Slippers and Removing Sandals
Scholars have stated that if one sees their slippers (khuffain) stolen, they may experience two worries. Removing sandals (na'l) might indicate separating from a servant or a wife. Well-made sandals, if worn for walking, symbolize a journey or travel. If its strap breaks, one might postpone their journey; if its laces or thong break, or if the sandal breaks, an unforeseen event might prevent them from traveling unwillingly. The color of the sandal relates to the intention of the journey: black for seeking wealth and prestige, red for seeking harm, green for religious matters, and yellow for illness and worry.
