The Turban

Scholars have said that wearing and wrapping a turban might indicate travel with renown and splendor, or an increase in authority and power. Its interpretation varies according to its material; a silk turban may suggest leadership accompanied by religious corruption and illicit wealth, while cotton and wool indicate leadership in religious and worldly righteousness. Removing a turban could signify separation from one's wife or leader, and its return, the reinstatement of good fortune or position, and it may also point to the duration of a governorship and whether it is accompanied by justice or injustice.

Per Ibn Sirin's Muntakhab al-Kalam fi Tafsir al-Ahlam
