The Split Earth
Scholars have said that seeing the earth split open and a young man emerge might indicate enmity arising among its people, while the emergence of an old man signifies happiness and abundance. If the earth splits but nothing emerges or enters, a calamitous event might occur in that land. The emergence of a lion points to the rise of an unjust ruler, and a snake suggests persistent torment in that region. However, if the earth splits and vegetation emerges, it indicates prosperity for its inhabitants.
