Lightning and Thunder
Scholars have said that seeing lightning accompanied by thunder confirms the meaning of thunder. If the sun is shining brightly without rain, it may indicate the ruler sending out drums and banners to announce a conquest, good news, an appointment, or an expedition. However, if combined with rain, darkness, and thunderbolts, it might signify heavenly calamities like hail or locusts, or plague and death, or sedition and war. Some interpret thunder without rain as fear.
