The Ostrich

Scholars have said that seeing a calm ostrich in one's home may indicate a long life and blessings. It was said that its chick symbolizes a son and its eggs represent daughters. If a ruler sees an ostrich, it might refer to a eunuch servant guarding concubines. It was also mentioned that riding the male ostrich (dhaleem) could mean riding a swift courier.
