The Elephant

Scholars have said that seeing an elephant may carry diverse connotations, often referring to a foreign ruler, a large woman, or a large ship. Its killing in a city may indicate the death of its ruler, and its threat might signify illness. It was said that if it throws the dreamer down and falls on them, it might indicate death, while escaping it could suggest overcoming severe difficulties. Riding it may point to marriage, travel, triumph over a ruler, or gaining power, unless one is in war. It was also mentioned that seeing it outside India might express hardship and terror, and its departure from a city could indicate the removal of difficulties or the death of the ruler.
