The Dead Asking for Clothes to be Washed
Scholars have said that seeing a dead person asking the living to wash their clothes might indicate their need for prayers and charity. It could also signify the necessity of settling a debt they owed, appeasing an adversary, or fulfilling a will they left before their death.
